2016 Pheasant Run Syrah
Syrah wasn’t even planted in Walla Walla until 1994. This old vine Walla Walla Syrah wasn’t too far behind the original plantings. Situated on higher elevation part of the Estate Vineyard this Syrah always extracts the soils its grown in. The Walla Walla silt and loess dirt compositions of the South side make for a soft fruit forward Syrah with dark and extracted flavors and just a hint of earthiness. Compared to other parts of the valley that have more of the barnyard and old-world style.
